We are always looking for new boats

to join our program!

If you’re interested in racing on Tuesdays and helping a great group of sailors improve their skills, this may be a good fit for you.

Our Mission: Empowering women to become more actively involved in sailboat racing and to create a spirit of good fellowship among members.

Our Focus: While our members do learn sailing skills, particularly in the Prep (Beginners) fleet, our focus is to make our members better racers.

Fleets: Depending on which boats participate, fleets will include JAM, PHRF, T-10, Prep (beginner's fleet) and possibly others.

Schedule: We will have a full schedule of Tuesday nights on the water starting on June 7 and continuing through the end of August. There will be a Shakedown Cruise, Practice Race and 10 races.

Courses: Races will be run off the EYC pavilion using EYC's fixed marks.

Race Committee: Participating boat crews take turns acting as race committee on the pavilion. There will not be a committee or mark boat.

Education: There will be short sessions on specific topics delivered in person at meetings and potentially via Zoom sessions.

mission

NCWSA encourages women to become more actively involved in sailboat racing through regattas and clinics, and to create a spirit of good fellowship among members.

location

Hosted by Edgewater Yacht Club, NCWSA provides scheduled races, educational meetings, and social events throughout the year.  Although NCWSA is dedicated to the development and training of women sailors, NCWSA encourages men to be active in coaching, training, race committee, and other supportive roles.
